Eillin Delapaz

I live in Tampa Florida where the weather is beautiful yet bipolar. I am passionate about storytelling, art and nature. I obtained my bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida St. Petersburg in English writing studies and loved it so much that I went back for a master's degree in liberal arts with a focus on digital journalism and design.

As I showcase in this portfolio, my work includes radio broadcasting, multimedia journalism, digital design and videography. I have a keen interest in community journalism and environmental issues. I hope that my work cannot only inform people, but compel, impact and most importantly stimulate positive change. I moved from Philadelphia to Tampa 18 years ago and it wasn’t long before I became entrenched in this beautiful community that drips with rich history. I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing the bay area expand from a small quiet city to the bustling arts loving/ beer drinking/Bucs breathing/hockey raging/ pirate run city that it is today. I believe that local news helps build the foundation of every city. It’s my love of people, writing and problem solving which drives me to become a passionate and successful storyteller.
Non-fiction storytelling reveals positive and negative issues, situations, and feelings. It takes many forms and that’s what I enjoy the most about it. The ability to be creative; to write a story, produce a film, take photos or create art. I’m constantly looking to learn and try new things. I like for everything to have substance, but to be unique and aesthetically appealing.
